Early model 4 knob Menatone Red Snapper

Boxed, in very clean condition

The Menatone Red Snapper 4-Knob Overdrive is a premium, point-to-point hand-wired boutique pedal renowned as one of the earliest and most celebrated transparent, touch-sensitive overdrive pedals on the market. First introduced as a 3-knob pedal in 1996, the subsequent 4-knob variants expand the circuit's versatility without changing its core uncompressed, amp-like character.

The 4-knob version features an intricate dual-acting approach to treating higher frequencies, allowing you to push harmonic grit and sculpt the top-end rollout independently:
  • Volume: Sets the overall output level. It provides a clean boost when the gain is kept low.
  • Gain: Controls the level of overdrive, ranging from an edge-of-breakup grit to a fully detailed crunch.
  • Bite: Functions as an additive control that acts like a treble/upper-mid booster. It adds harmonic character and intensity to the pick attack, helping the guitar cut through a dense mix.
  • Cut (Hi-Cut): A subtractive low-pass filter that rolls off treble frequencies after the gain circuit. Turning it counter-clockwise completely disengages the filter from the circuit for maximum clarity. Turning it up allows you to tame harsh frequencies when using single-coils or very bright amplifiers.
