Successor Of The SLG130NW
Following on from the successful design of the SLG130NW, the SLG200NW builds on a truly unique idea and makes it even better. Improvements such as a mahogany neck, double action truss rod and the new SRT pickup system are just some of the upgrades featured on the SLG200. The extended battery life means you can practice and perform for longer without having to change out the batteries.
New SRT Pickup System From Yamaha A Series
The SRT (Studio Response Technology) pickup is the same one that is featured on the Japanese Yamaha A Series guitars. The SRT pickup is designed to use the individual elements for each of the strings. This helps to produce an ultra-clear and ultra-wide bandwidth signal to deliver an excellent dynamic response. The tonal output of the SRT system possesses exceptional tonal accuracy. Combined with the new SRT Mic Modeling Pre-Amp System, which features the premium Neumann U67 microphone model, the tone shaping capabilities of the SLG200NW are endless.
Despite being an electronic instrument, the SLG200NW Guitar also retains a set of acoustic properties that help to achieve that beautiful rich and warm sound. A Mahogany body combined with an Ebony fingerboard and Mahogany neck provide the perfect amount of warm resonance to enhance the guitars tone. Fitted with a Rosewood bridge, the sound is transferred from the strings to the body without a single flaw, creating a truly organic sound.
Portability and Playability
The detachable top section of SLG's frame means that practicality and portability are way beyond that of a conventional guitar. The luxury gig bag provided can be carried with ease and fits into an aircraft overhead compartment with room to spare. The slim body of the SLG gives these instruments superb playability, and allows players to switch to playing an electric guitar without any discomfort should the need arise.
With the SLG, Yamaha set out to bring a modern feel to the classic contours of a conventional guitar. The distinctive design that emerged is the result of a collaborative effort between the project team and the Yamaha Design Laboratory, and combines traditional guitar lines with an innovative new form unlike that of any guitar before it.
The design of the SLG offers a natural, quiet sound that allows guitarists to play without disturbing others, whether practicing late at night or playing in the living room when the family is home. The SLG200NW is eighty percent quieter than a conventional acoustic guitar.
Integrated Digital Audio Player
The Yamaha Silent Guitar also comes with capabilities to play along to all your favourite tracks via the aux input. Simply plug in your music and play along. Suitable for practicing those tricky ensemble parts or simply playing along to your favourite tracks, the inbuilt technology means you don't need any other cumbersome technology.
